The Aven Roll Top Backpacking Food Bag takes the classic roll top bag you're familiar with and enhances it with a design that fits better in your backpack, easier hanging, better usable space and premium components for a bag you'll trust and use for mile after mile on the trail.
The Aven is available in two sizes, 8 liters and 12 liters (5 rolls of the top) giving hikers of any style the ability to carry all the food necessary for a weekend to the next resupply.

*NOTE* - Both bags have more capacity than 8 and 12 liters, with roughly 9.5 and 14 liters with the top rolled only 3 or 4 times. With roll top bags, the capacity changes depending on the number of rolls. Defining them as 8 and 12 liter capacity gives a realistic look at the effective, usable space and having a secure closure of the top.
This backpacking food bag features a unique flat bottom where the sides are curved to eliminate corners that stick out when set on the ground that become abrasion and wear points on the bag and unusable space. It also uses molded velcro at the opening that won't catch on clothing, but gives a better, more secure roll vs a plastic snap. Lastly, a premium buckle for maximum strength and a D-ring added on either side of the buckle to give various options of hanging.
The Aven Rock Sack is also available with the food bag, and simplifies the rock sack with an overlapping fold for the opening and a D-Ring for tying throw rope or a mini carabiner to for easy throwing over a tree branch.
(UltraGrid fabric is the strongest and most abrasion resistant of the fabric options available for the Aven Food Bag. If tossing a rock sack in high abrasion areas, it's recommended to order an UltraGrid rock sack separately if choosing TX70 or DTRS75 fabric for the food bag. Otherwise, Food Bag/Rock Sack combos come as matching fabrics.)

The Aven Roll Top Backpacking Food Bag could have been made from ultralight dyneema, but durability is important to us, and so using a heavier weight fabric like UltraGrid ensures a bag that will last longer and not shrink over time like you get with dyneema fabrics. The Aven however is available in two lightweight options (Ultra TX70 and DTRS75) for those who want maximum weight savings from the bag, and are less concerned about maximum durability.
